e arrived at Palm Garden
Beach Resort & Spa in the
late afternoon, the final
destination on our Herit-
age Journey in the Central Coast of
Vietnam Tour.
Long ago I was impressed by Hoi
An – a small and mysterious ancient
town located on the coast of Vietnam
and bathed in warm sunshine.
The first impression of the Palm
Garden Beach Resort & Spa is how open
and green it is, full of hundreds of
palm trees and plants and facing a pri-
vate beach. As I wander around the
lush green gardens I catch glimpses of
blocks of accommodation and restau-
rants with unique architecture and the
charm of ancient Hoi An. These build-
ings are nestled in the green of nature
among fish ponds, lotus ponds, coun-
tryside water jars and bridges.
It’s wonderful to bask in the sun on
a day bed and see the beautiful white
sands of the famous Cua Dai Beach.
Time passes smoothly.
When night falls I take the resort’s
scheduled shuttle bus to the centre of
Hoi An ancient town. Here I wallow
in the sparkling beauty and the magic
of the town. We walk around and buy
some souvenirs for ourselves and enjoy
some of the local specialties. Hoi An at
night is amazingly beautiful.
After walking around I indulged
myself at the Palm Spa, with some
much-needed pampering treatments.
The next day is Saturday so I join
the weekly Hoi An Market Buffet Din-
ner at the resort. I can see everyone
preparing carefully for a buffet dinner
served in the garden. I see the display of
baskets of seasonal fruit and the perfor-
mance of calligraphy and clay pottery.
In addition, hand-made lanterns hang in
the trees. I immerse myself in the expe-
rience with fragrant glasses of wine and
enjoy an array of new dishes prepared
by the excellent chefs at Palm Garden.
My stay is short, but wonderful.
Thanks to the considerate and sincere
staff I know I will be back here soon.
