A
s I step into the green heav-
en of the lush and spacious
grounds of Hoi An Historic
Hotel I feel I have left behind
all my worries and exhaustion. Situ-
ated ideally in the immediate vicinity
of Hoi An Ancient Town, this four-star
hotel brings me fresh air. I relax per-
fectly thanks to its dedicated and pro-
fessional staff, cosy atmosphere and
convenient services.
Based on French buildings and ren-
ovated in 2010, the hotel offers 150
spacious, agreeably furnished rooms
and suites. Here the minimalist fad of
recent years has been eschewed. All
the rooms are equipped with air-con-
ditioning, LCD TV, tub and shower, and
in-room safety box.
For me, this is an ideal place from
which to enjoy this UNESCO town
while having a whole comfortable ho-
tel to relax and pamper myself. The
four-star hotel also offers use of a vast,
outdoor pool with poolside recliners
as well as a Jacuzzi, tennis courts, sou-
venir shop, art gallery, beauty salon
and tour desk.
My dining options are diverse. The
Oaks Terrace serves Western cuisine
and Indochine Corner serves Vietnam-
ese and Asian cuisines, while the West-
ern Bar serves drinks and Italian cuisine
by the poolside.
The Oaks Terrace brings contem-
porary European brasserie style to Hoi
An. With its classical design, the all
day dining restaurant spreads across
the oak garden creating an inviting and
informal venue. There is also a specially
designed international a la carte menu
for lunch and dinner.
Indochine Corner is decorated with
traditional Asian interiors in an open-air
tropical garden with additional indoor
seating. It’s the ideal place to enjoy
traditional Vietnamese and other Asian
cuisines as well as the breakfast buffet
with its wide selection of dishes.
Western Bar is an alfresco style
bar which offers a colourful panoramic
view of the pool and garden and a wide
selection of authentic Italian cuisine.
It is the best venue in Hoi An to enjoy
pastas, salads and pizzas straight from
a wood fired oven.
The hotel also puts on barbecue
parties and some of Hoi An’s most re-
nowned cuisine together with tradition-
al folk dance performances. The hotel’s
daily cooking classes are a great way to
learn how to create authentic Vietnam-
ese culinary masterpieces.
After a day walking around the
ancient streets and swimming at the
stunning beach of Cua Dai, enjoy some
downtime at White Lotus Spa which
weaves Vietnamese native remedies
with contemporary spa concepts, pro-
viding patrons with relaxing and spiritu-
ally enriching treatments.
To cool down in the hot summer,
it’s also great to soak in the hotel’s out-
door swimming pool.
Moreover, this is a perfect venue
for business travellers who can take ad-
vantage of the hotel’s superlative, state-
of-the-art conference facilities with the
Hoi An Ballroom capable of catering to
400 guests. Meanwhile, the two Hoi An
VIP meeting rooms can provide services
for up to 60.
