Mandara, Sailing Club and Louisianna.
“This area should be planned with
90 per cent green trees and gardens
and 10 per cent for small scale services
with a maximum height of 3 metres,”
said Bui.
According to Giang Nam, former
chairman of Khanh Hoa People’s Com-
mittee, the beach cannot be used for
developing properties: “The high-rise
buildings would totally block the view
of the sea.”
Nam has long expressed his op-
position to any construction on the
beach: “Those projects will destroy the
beach which has been voted as one of
the most beautiful bays of the world,”
he said.
He added that Nha Trang bay is an
asset of the people and it must be man-
aged for the people rather than given to
any company to exploit for profit.
Current chairman of the Khanh
Hoa People’s Committee, Nguyen Chien
Thang, said that he will explain more
about the plans when official written
opinions have been submitted by the
Khanh Hoa Union for Technologies and
Scientific Association.
“I want to say that the Khanh Hoa
People’s Committee will not establish a
plan which will destroy the city’s land-
scape, but we aim to renovate and in-
crease the value of the beach in order to
serve the community and attract more
tourists,” he said.
