Cat Tien Jungle Lodge,
the first boutique resort in
Nam Cat Tien, will open on
February 1, 2014. The resort
will provide luxury accom-
modation for 112 guests.
It includes a restaurant, an
open bar and café, a well
equipped conference room
and many other amenities.
Cat Tien Jungle Lodge is a
nature-friendly resort with
views of Nam Cat Tien Na-
tional Park and the Dong
Nai River.
Cat Tien National Park is
an important national park
located in the south of Vi-
etnam, approximately 150
km north of Ho Chi Minh
City and 175km from Da-
lat. The park has been rec-
ognised by UNESCO as one
of the world’s six biosphere
reserves and it is home to
many bird species, mam-
mals, reptiles and amphib-
ians, plus an incredible array
of insects.

Emeraude Classic Cruises
has celebrated its 10th year
as one of Vietnam’s most dis-
tinctive travel experiences.
The anniversary marks a dec-
ade of rapid tourism growth
in Halong Bay. Launched on
Halong’s turquoise waters
on a December morning in
2003, the cruise’s old-world
appeal is anchored in the
history of its namesake - a
French-owned paddlewheel
steamer that plied the bay
between 1906 and 1937.
The Emeraude debuted
with 34 colonial-inspired

published a 112-page book
by author Pam Scott with
research by entrepreneur
Eric Merlin. The volume, ti-
tled Jewels of Halong Bay,
chronicles Merlin’s discovery
of a vintage postcard in a
Paris flea market in 1999,
the story of the Roque broth-
ers who made a fortune in
colonial Indochina, and
the resurrection of the Em-
eraude as a living piece of
French-Vietnamese history.

Three flights a week
(Tuesday, Thursday and Sat-
urday) will depart Vinh at
8.05am and arrive in Da-
lat at 9.35am. The return
flight will depart Dalat at
10.10am and arrive in Vinh
at 11.40am.
