Hung Vuong Invest-
ment JSC has announced
the opening of Cat Ba Beach
Resort on Cat Ba Island in
Haiphong. Set on Cat Co
Beach, the resort offers
individual, beautifully fur-
nished bungalows, a sea-
side bar, plus a spa and sau-
na. Guests at the resort will
have easy access to many
nearby attractions, includ-
ing the Cannon Fortress and
a host of beautiful beaches.
Many different water sports
are also available.

Going organic
Hyatt Regency Danang
Resort and Spa has estab-
lished a partnership with
Thanh Tam Vocational Train-
ing Centre to develop an or-
ganic garden on the train-
ing centre’s campus. Thanh
Tam (meaning ‘good heart’)
is a training centre for peo-
ple with disabilities. Frederik
Farina, the resort’s executive
chef, learned about the cen-
tre when its management
visited the hotel for advice.
After learning about the
needs of the centre, he sug-
gested they work with him
to develop an organic farm
project for Hyatt Regency
Danang, with the hotel pur-
chasing the entire output
from the project. The first
delivery of 600 kg of fresh
vegetables has now been
made and the farm is on
track to produce some 2,400
kg per month.
Vietnam Airlines has
launched two new routes
from Danang’s international
airport on July 1. There will
be three flights to Seoul per
week, and a daily flight to
SiemReap.These flights bring
the number of new interna-
tional routes added this year
to three. Vietnam Airlines
now flies to 90 international
and 221 local destinations. A
round trip ticket is priced at
VND5,940,000 for Seoul and
and VND1,738,000 for Siem
Reap. The two new routes
are expected to diversify the
tourism products and give
more convenience to tour-
ists in Northest Asia.
ASEAN Resort is adding
more facilities and services
with the aim to become a
five-star property. The resort,
which is half an hour from
Hanoi’s downtown area and
at the end of Thang Long Av-
enue, has opened a commu-
nity spa on an area of 4,500
square metres and is expect-
ed to launch a 9-hole golf
course this September. The
resort currently has 70 rooms
incorporated in villa com-
plex, which is sold for around
VND3.7 million per night.
The Sofitel Plaza Hanoi
has received a TripAdvisor
Certificate of Excellence in
recognition of achieving
outstanding ratings on the
site. Only the top-perform-
ing 10 percent of businesses
listed on TripAdvisor are
honoured with this award,
and to achieve it hotels must
maintain a top ranking over
a period of a year.
