Hyatt Regency Da-
nang Resort and Spa has
received a TripAdvisor®
Certificate of Excellence
award.
The
accolade,
which honours hospitality
excellence, is given only
to establishments that
consistently achieve out-
standing traveller reviews
on TripAdvisor, and is ex-
tended to qualifying busi-
nesses worldwide. Only
the top-performing 10 per
cent of businesses listed
on TripAdvisor receive this
prestigious award. To qual-
ify for a Certificate of Ex-
cellence, businesses must
maintain an overall rating
of four or higher, out of a
possible five, as reviewed
by travellers on TripAdvi-
sor, and must have been
listed on TripAdvisor for at
least 12 months.
Zulki Othman, general
manager of the resort, said:
“We strive to offer our cus-
tomers a memorable expe-
rience, and this accolade is
evidence that our hard work
is translating into positive
reviews on TripAdvisor.”
On May 25 almost
200 athletes arrived on
the Suoi Nuoc beach 20km
north of Mui Ne for the the
Le Fruit triathlon. A unique
event, it sees entrants take
on an ocean swim before
biking an off-road circuit
through the area’s famous
dunes and finishes with an
energy sapping run on the
sand. “This year’s event
was way harder than any-
thing they have organised
before, with an absolutely
gruelling stretch through
the dunes,” said men’s
winner, Kristof Van Houdt
of Belgium. A true fam-
ily day out, the Le Fruit
includes a kid’s competi-
tion and a shorter adult
triathlon. Vietadventure,
the organiser, is now or-
ganising a mountain race
this December. Visit www.
vietadventure.vn for more
details.
25 UK cyclists recently
cycled 1,500 kilometres
from Lao Cai to Danang in
10 days to raise funds to
bring British neonatal nurs-
ing expertise to Vietnam.
The cycling finished on May
26 at the Danang Hospital
for Women & Children with
an official welcome for the
cycling heroes from city of-
ficials and the British Am-
bassador, Dr Antony Stokes.
The ride was the chal-
lenge of a lifetime and
sponsorship from the ride
will support UK-led nurse
training and life saving
equipment. In addition to
sponsorship from various
high profile multinational
companies, the intrepid cy-
clists have already raised
$135,000 for an eighteen-
month neonatal teaching
programme from the UK’s
Canterbury Christ Church
University.
