How did you get involved with Gold-
en Sand Resort Hoi An ?
I was placed here by the manage-
ment company Swiss-Belhotel Interna-
tional which is a very respected and
highly regarded Hotel Management
Company with over 120 hotels across
Asia and the Middle East. I had been
working with Swiss-Belhotel over the
last 12 months with hotel opportunities
in Thailand.
How has Golden Sand Resort’s busi-
ness fared so far this year when the
international arrivals to Vietnam has
been on a decline in the first five
months? And how do you expect the
resort to do for the rest of the year?
Swiss-Belhotel Golden Sand is per-
forming very strongly this year and oc-
cupancy levels are up by 19.3 per cent
compared to the same time last year.
We are expecting the remaining months
of the year to also exceed last year with
occupancy at over 70 per cent.
How important are Vietnamese
guests to your resort?
Vietnam is our major supporter as
a geographical source of business and
the business mix includes FIT’s, OTA
and of course the MICE markets. Viet-
nam is incredibly important to Swiss-
Belhotel Golden Sand Resort and Spa
