Hanoi-on-sea
D
espite a widespread love of seafood among Hanoi-
ans, many avoid going to seafood markets. People
dislike that many are dirty and smelly and the long
time it can take to bargain for the right price. However, on
the final day of 2012, a special new seafood market opened in the
My Way restaurant on Nguyen Gia Thieu street, Hanoi, providing a
new take on the traditional fish monger experience.
At My Way, the fish are housed in clean, glass aquariums. An
abundance of seafood can be found, including oysters, clams, scal-
lops, prawns, lobster, squid and much more.
The My Way chefs can provide advice on how to prepare the
fish at home. What’s more, some ingredients that have be specially
selected to be paired with the seafood are also available.
Carefully selected from ships in Quang Ninh province, the My Way
seafood comes with a quality guarantee.
Despite being known as an upper-end café and restaurant, My
Way’s takeaway seafood prices are very reasonable.
As well as taking fish home, it is also possible to take a seat in the
elegant dining space and observe the chefs transform fresh seafood
into delicious dishes. My Way’s trademark dishes include snails or
scallops steamed with lemongrass, and grilled squid with chilli – both
warming, fragrant choices.
The assistant manager, Nguyen Manh Cuong proudly says
that the standard of My Way is indicated by its quality and ser-
vice, not the prices: “The new commitment of My Way during
these hard times is a reasonably priced luxury.” The best meals,
according to Cuong, can be shared amongst friends, family or
business partners.
My Way Seafood market launched on January 1, 2013, of-
fering a huge variety of expertly selected seafood from Quang
Ninh province.
