Hanoi Cooking Centre
Located at 44 Chau Long street
(www.hanoicookingcenter.com) on
the edge of Hanoi’s old quarter and
close to the picturesque Truc Bach
and West Lake, Hanoi Cooking Cen-
tre is a cooking school and café in
one. It offers hands-on cooking class-
es and short courses in a relaxed at-
mosphere, designed by chef Tracey
Lister, co-author of KOTO - A Culinary
Journey Through Vietnam. At Hanoi
Cooking Centre you can take part in
Vietnamese Cooking Classes or at-
tend street eats and market tours.
What’s more, it is located right next
to the city’s best foreign language
bookstore, Bookworm.
Hidden Hanoi cooking class
Hidden Hanoi was established in
2004 when two good friends with a
deep passion for Vietnamese culture
and cuisine decided that they want-
ed to share that passion through the
food, the architecture, the language
and mythology of Vietnam’s intoxi-
cating capital city. The center offers
high quality, informative walking
tours, fully hands on cooking classes
and language lessons to customers
wishing to enrich their time in Viet-
nam. Guests have the chance to pre-
pare their own typical Vietnamese
meal in their purpose built kitchen,
before enjoying the meal in a friend-

Red Bridge Cooking School
Located on the outskirts of Hoi
An, Red Bridge school offers a mar-
ket tour at the central market before
boarding a boat to cruise down the
scenic river to the cooking school.
Cooking classes are held in the open
air and guests also visit herb garden.
IN HUE
Missyroo Hue Cooking Class
Located at 31 Vo Thi Sau street,
Missyroo Hue offer special cooking
classes daily with tours to Dong Ba
market. The course starts with a cup
of Vietnamese coffee before heading
to the market to buy some ingredi-
ents and to learn more about the
daily life of local people.
Villa Hue Cooking Class
Located at 4 Tran Quang Khai,
the cooking class here is run by Hue
Tourism College. It is a great experi-
ence and a must-do for tourists who
want something a little bit different
on their trip to Hue. The cooking
class provides plenty of knowledge
on local cuisine, giving insight into
local herbs and vegetables before
learning how to cook some special-
ties of Hue city and wider Vietnam.
IN HO CHI MINH CITY
Vietnam Cookery Center
Located in a French colonial
building (once the opium refinery of
Saigon) at 26 Ly Tu Trong street, Viet-
nam Cookery Center (www.vietnam-
cookery.com) was established back
in 1999. It offers hands-on classes,
with an introduction to the food cul-
ture of Vietnam, providing you with
a memorable souvenir to take home.
Saigon Cooking Class
Located in Hoa Tuc restaurant
at 74 Hai Ba Trung, Saigon Cook-
ing Class (www.saigoncookingclass.
com), sits on the first floor in a
beautiful colonial setting. Expect a
selection of traditional recipes and
contemporary signature dishes from
Hoa Tuc’s kitchen.
IN MUI NE
A Taste of Vietnam
Located at 82 Nguyen Dinh
Chieu, the classroom is set in a
beautiful garden right on the
beach. With a half-day cooking
tour, you can learn the secrets of
great Vietnamese dishes. Your Mui
Ne cooking tour will begin with
a quick walk through the popular
Ham Tien market where you will
learn more about the various ingre-
dients, including vegetables, fruits
and Vietnamese herbs and spices
that go into a Vietnamese dish.
It’s then back to the Mui Ne cook-
ing school center for your hand’s
on cooking lesson followed by a
chance to try your new creation.
