Champagne for Annual Report Awards winners

VIR’s Annual Report Awards 2011 has wrapped up with the triumph of 37 best performers praised at the awards ceremony on July 5 in Ho Chi Minh City.

The winners were picked out from 90 short-listed nominees in the final round. Of which, 30 come from the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE) and seven from the Hanoi Stock Exchange (HNX).

Hau Giang Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (DHG) and PV Drilling (PVD) were the winners, with the former winning the prize for three consecutive years, while the 29 obtained excellent awards and the remaining six earned commendation awards.

The fourth contest saw 650 entries, an increase of 42 per cent compared to 2010 and 90 per cent against 2009.

This year’s panel of judges includes six members coming from the HOSE, HNX, VIR, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics, ANZ and the Vietnam Association of Accountants and Auditors.

First run in 2007, the Annual Report Awards aim to honour listed companies making professional, transparent reports satisfying state authorities’ and investors’ information demands. The awards were initiated and has been coorganised by the HOSE and VIR's sister publication Dau tu Chung khoan, with support from the HNX and sole sponsorship by fund management Dragon Capital Group Limited.

The Annual Report Awards 2012 is expected to start in March.
