BMW motors ahead with its Vietnam expansion plans

Given the strong growth of the premium car segment in Vietnam, Euro Auto – the official importer of BMW cars in Vietnam – is improving its network and services to meet the demand. Horst Herdtle, CEO of Euro Auto, speaks with VIR.

You have claimed the market has great growth opportunities. How does your firm intend to make the most of these opportunities?

Vietnam is now one of the key contributing markets for BMW Group Asia. In Vietnam, BMW delivered close to 1,000 units in 2013, which is a 20 per cent improvement from the year before. We won’t stop there. Actually, we have significantly invested in this market. We opened the new BMW Long Bien Showroom in June last year, which has up to 6,000 square metres of floor space with fully-fledged 4S capabilities. In May 2014, we officially launched the first new MINI showroom in Hanoi. In August 2014, we officially introduced BMW Motorcyle (Motorrad) in Hanoi through the first BMW World Xpo 2014 in Vietnam. And recently, BMW also launched the first dedicated BMW M & Individual showroom in Ho Chi Minh City. In 2015, we plan to launch the first MINI showroom in Ho Chi Minh City, and maybe further expand network in central Vietnam.

We notice that there are more and more corporate customers using BMW. What is your BMW fleet programme?

Just to name a few of our fleet customers: Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi, Pullman Danang, The Nam Hai resort, Marriott Hanoi, Sheraton Hotel Hanoi, Sheraton Hotel Saigon, Sheraton Hotel Nha Trang, Sofitel Hotel Hanoi, Equatorial Hotel, Moevenpick Hotel, Hilton Hotel and Michelia Nha Trang. As well as hotels, BMW is also the automobile choice for large corporations like Bayer Vietnam and Samsung Vietnam as the official car for their business operation and promotional activities. BMW cars are selected as official fleet provider for more than 50 per cent of luxury hotels, resorts and leading corporations nationwide as well as esteemed diplomats. Recently, BMW has just added in its fleet customers list the new 5-star-hotel Nikko Saigon for providing BMW limousines for Hotel Nikko Saigon customer’s transportation.

Why is BMW continuously chosen by luxury hotels and resorts in Vietnam?

In the rankings issued by Forbes Sep 2013, BMW was named The World’s Most Powerful Car Brand. With its reputation, the brand will enhance the image and service of its partners through partnership co-operation via excellent experience offered for customers brought by premium brands.

At the same time, “Made in Germany”quality is also the valid point for decision makers: All BMW sedans in Vietnam were completely assembled at one of the four BMW Assembly Plants in Germany at Munich, Dingolfing, Leipzig and Regenburg. All processes on the assembly line must strictly follow BMW’s regulations. The cutting-edge robots had to work with extreme precision and all units need to meet European quality standards before rolling out.

Also, each BMW delivered to our fleet customers carters for respective demand of our partners’ client to enable them to maintain the core value of business that they pursue. No need to mention, the safety in a BMW creates the peace of mind for its passengers.

Regarding aftersales service, we spend our utmost effort for customer orientation by focusing on excellent aftersales service. We also offer each 5-Star- Allience partner a dedicated technical and functional training programme for chauffers and support hotline service 24/24; mobile breakdown service available 24/7.

What brands has Euro Auto distributed in Vietnam and what are the competitive advantages of your company in comparison with the others?

We are now official importers of BMW, BMW Motorcycle (Motorrad), high performance BMW M and BMW Individual, BMW Motorrad nationwide. All the brands are loved by Vietnamese customers. We continue to study and introduce new brands, products, services to the market. Our successful strategy is expanding product portfolio with MINI to accommodate various customer demands. We are also permanently conducted customer surveys to improve high customer satisfaction rating. We as Euro Auto are convinced that we will be even more successful than before based on our experienced team and our exciting products. We also support customers who want to purchase their dream car via promotional campaigns. We are very proud to be at a very high customer satisfaction according.
