The Department of Planning and Investment of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province reported that there were currently eight slow-moving tourism projects in the province -- four projects in Vung Tau City, two projects in Dat Do District and two projects in Xuyen Moc District.

These projects were moving at a slow pace from three to five years compared to the issued investment certificates. Among the reasons for the delays was that investors could not afford to finance the project, no compensation and clearance had been done and investors had not been approved the detailed construction plan at 1:500 scale.

Nguyen Thanh Long, vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, requested the Steering Committee on handling the provincial projects with slow implementation, to review each project and invite investors to find appropriate solutions.

For projects that could not find a viable solution, investment policy must be revoked, he said.
