Asian Banker Fintech Showcase promotes technology development in financial industry

The Asian Banker introduced the very first ‘Asian Banker Fintech Showcase – Top Ten Promising Propositions’ during The Asian Banker Summit 2016.

This programme is designed as a market place for dialogues between incumbent banks and new fintech players whose propositions are beginning to make a breakthrough and are most likely to succeed to make a difference to the industry as a whole.

The Asian Banker had invited over 90 companies to make submission for this event. The submissions received were assessed in detail by the distinguished ‘Council of Advisors’ comprising senior decision makers from leading financial institutions and the fintech investor community, on a given set of evaluation scorecard.

The advisors selected following top ten candidates and invited them to make presentations at the Fintech Showcase to be held as part of the Asian Banker Summit 2016 in Hanoi on May 12. They are Acorns Grow Australia Ltd, Dragonwealth, Dipamkara Web Ventures Private Ltd (I-lend), Instarem, Ideatory, LYST Pte Ltd (Onelyst), Moneythor, Sixscape Communications, Fundnel and Moroku

Eight of these ten selected companies, except Moroku and Fundnel attended The Asian Banker Fintech Showcase in Hanoi and presented their pitch to a large community of investors and senior decision makers in technology and innovation.

Each of the presentation at the showcase was further evaluated by the advisors on the spot, on following five parameters: business model innovation, scalability, impact on financial services industry in Asia, management capability and quality of pitch and presentation

Based on ratings given by each of the advisors on these parameters, the highest scorer Moneythor, a Singapore based fintech was presented with a special recognition and a cash prize of $10,000. This company develops banking software components designed to provide better digital banking for customers and enhanced marketing and analytics for banks.
