Many Argentinean businesses are eager to import coffee, rubber, car tyres, motorbikes, bikes, timber products and furniture made in Vietnam and export wine, wheat, canned fruit juice, soybean residue and confectionary to the country.

The information was shared by Argentinean businesses at an April 16 seminar on trade exchange in Rosario City, Argentina.

A representative from the Vietnam Trade Office in Argentina told participants of custom procedures for South American products exported to Vietnam and Vietnam’s potential source of coffee, rubber and timber products.

Bilateral trade between Vietnam and Argentina has increased significantly in recent years. It hit a record high of US$1.9 billion in 2014, much higher than 2010’s figure of US$830 million.

Argentina is also a Latin American country having a two-way trade turnover surpassing US$1 billion besides Brazil and Mexico.

Vietnam mainly exports footwear, rubber, garment, tea, coffee, and agricultural machines to Argentina while importing animal food, animal fats and vegetable oils, cereals, leather, beef and cotton.

The seminar was under the framework of the International Food Fair (Fiar 2015) which is being held in Rosario from April 15-18.

This is the first time Vietnam joined the fair which involved 300 Argentinean businesses and many others from Peru, Mexico, Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil, Italy, Russia, the US, Turkey, Poland and Thailand.
