Agencies urged to realize action plans within VN-Japan cooperation

Deputy PM Hoang Trung Hai has assigned ministries and agencies to coordinate with localities in implementing effectively their five action plans which are part of Viet Nam's Industrialization Strategy within the Viet Nam-Japan cooperation framework towards 2020.

Deputy PM Hai, Head of the Steering Committee for Viet Nam's Industrialization Strategy, gave the assignment when chairing the committee’s meeting in Ha Noi on January 20.

PM Nguyen Tan Dung has so far approved the five action plans for prioritized industries in the Industrialization Stategy, including electronics, agro-fishery processing, environment and energy saving, agricultural mechanics and shipbuilding.

Another action plan on automobiles and automobile parts will continue to be discussed and an agreed plan will be submitted to the PM for approval.

The action plans aim to improve drastically technology, increase productivity, enhance the international competitiveness and develop products with high added value and quality for export and local consumption.

To accelerate the implementation of the approved plans, Deputy PM Hai urged ministries and agencies to keep track of implementation, share information, and mobilize resources from foreign partners and enterprises for cooperative projects.

They are also tasked to continue improving the action plan on developing the automobile industry and auto parts, particularly addressing obstacles and reaching unanimity with the Japanese side on cooperative contents.

The relevant ministries are required to define prioritized tasks and related policies in 2015 to realize the plans successfully.
