2018 FIFA World Cup: Asian draw announced

Vietnam is in Group F after the second round draw took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on April 14, twenty-eight days after the opening round of Asian qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia.

Group F includes Iraq, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and Chinese Taipei.

Thailand’s coach Kiatisuk is very confident for his team to earn a berth in the next round.

Meanwhile, Indonesia’s midfielder Maitimo said that all teams in Group F are strong, particularly Iraq and Thailand. Indonesia finds difficult to win a ticket to the next round, however, it would try efforts to achieve the best result, he added.

The second round of Asian qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia is scheduled to take place from June 11, 2015 to March 29, 2016. Fourty teams are divided into five groups, each group has five teams.

The eight first teams and the four second teams will enter the third round.

Vietnam will face Thailand on June 11.
