12th KOVA Award winners announced

The ceremony welcomed Vice State President and Chairwoman of the KOVA Awards Committee Nguyen Thi Doan, as well as leaders from ministries, central agencies and other delegates.

In the field of applied science and technology, awards went to three groups and four individuals. One group of doctors and engineers from the Medical Equipment and Work Institute, under the Ministry of Health, successfully researched and manufactured 1,500 automatic hand-washing facilities with hot and cold sterile water.

Another group from Binh Dinh Medical Equipment and Pharmacy JSC earned awards for their successful study of Carboplatin freeze dried injectable drugs for cancer treatment. Awards were also presented to the group from Long Phuong Technology Ltd. Company for their successful research into and production of 450 electrosurgery machines.

In terms of social welfare, the Standing Committee of Kon Chieng communal Women’s Association from Gia Lai province was awarded for their two campaigns to help eradicate poverty among ethnic women. Four individual awards for contributions to society were also handed out.

The KOVA Award Committee also recognised 16 excellent students and gave out 80 scholarships to pupils from low-income backgrounds. Of these, 17 were from ethnic minority families and 17 others had a deceased parent.

Speaking at the event, State Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan said she highly appreciated the achievements of all the individuals and groups in the areas of science and technology and social welfare. She also lauded KOVA Paint Group’s efforts to nurture new talent for the country.

Funded by KOVA Paint Group since 2002, the awards have been handed out to thousands of individuals, enterprises and associations and have become a great inspiration for intellectual achievement and social contribution.
